IJsseloog is an artificial island in Lake Ketelmeer, serving as a dump for heavy polluted silt. The silt is dumped in a round, 45 m deep basin with a diameter of 1 km. Building of the dump was completed in 1999 and the silt supply started in 2000. After the basin is totally filled , the island will receive a function for recreation and nature development. From view of nature development an inventory of mollusks was made in 2007. Monitoring of other biota, like fungi and birds, started already several years earlier. The results of the mollusk inventory made in April and October are presented.
