Records of the invasive brackish water mussel Mytilopsis sallei (Récluz, 1849), Fam. Dreissenidae, are enumerated and reviewed. Although living specimens were collected in Egypt in 2002 and in Israel in 2008, this species was already present in the Eastem Mediterranean in 1989 according to a loose valve dredged from a depth of 1400 m, about 43 km west off Nahariyya.
