The original descriptions of Helix glabrala Von Mühlfeldt, 1824, that of Rissoa punctulum Philippi, 1836, as well as Philippi's description of Rissoa glabrala (Helix) Von Mühlfeldt, 1824 have been studied and analysed. By comparing the shell characters given in these descriptions, with those of the shells in the collections of the authors and in modern literature, the authors came to the following conclusions: Helix glabrala Von Mühlfeldt, 1824 is certainly not a Pisinna glabrata, but most probably a Hyala vitrea. Rissoa punctulum Philippi 1836 most probably is a mix of two species : Pisinna glabrata and Botryphallus epidauricus. The name Pisinna glabrata can be maintained, but the authors propose to change the author's name into: Philippi, 1844.
