The freshwater nerite Theodoxus fluviatilis (Linnaeus, 1758) in Lake Markermeer

On November 2, 2010, some specimens of Theodoxus fluviatilis were found at several locations during a survey of dreissenids in Lake Markermeer. The observations are remarkable since it was demonstrated that the species is able to maintain itself in that lake in spite of the apparently low density in which they are observed.
