Among the bladder snails found on the site of the icerink of Midsland-North, on the island of Terschelling, the Netherlands, in the autumn of 2010, two different forms of pointed shells could be distinguished. The slender shells represented without doubt Haitia acuta, the others, characterized by much broader and proportionally less higher shells, are provisionally identified as Physella gyrina (Say, 1821). That is another American species which has been reported already as occurring in Ireland, Great Britain and Germany. A follow up investigation of the site is planned for October 2011.
