The find of a Yellow slug Limacus flavus (Linnaeus, 1758) in Boxtel; a rare slug or a common night owl?

In May 2011 a Yellow slug Limacus flavus was found in the village Boxtel in the province of Noord-Brabant. Because of the nocturnal lifestyle of this species, the question is raised whether this slug is more common than records in literature suggest. Nowadays, 107 species of aquatic and terrestrial molluscs have now been found in Het Groene Woud (the area between the cities of ’s-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg and Eindhoven).
