First record of the Chinese pond mussel Sinanodonta woodiana (Lea, 1834) from open water in the Netherlands
Spirula , Volume 386 p. 75- 76
On 27 May 2011 three primary school students found a doublet of the Chinese pond mussel in Tilburg, in the valley of the small river Donge. The mussel had lived in a pond connected to the river Donge. Large carp (Cyprinus spec.), probably released from captivity, have been reported from the pond as well as from the river and may explain the presence of the Chinese pond mussel.
