On an exuvium of a dragonfly from IJmuiden, the Netherlands an attached juvenile specimen of Acroloxus lacustris was discovered. Similarly, on another exuvium from Sfantu Gheorghe, Rumania a specimen of Dreissena polymorpha was found. These observations are accidental: nymphs of dragonflies have no role in the distribution of freshwater mollusks. In fact, in the cases described the mollusks <lied when the nymphs climbed up a plant emerging from the water to complete their metamorphosis.
