The Wall snail Balea perversa Linnaeus, 1758 on old ramparts in Maastricht

A population of the Wall snail Balea perversa was found on the remains of the 13th century city walls of Maastricht, the capital of the province of Limburg. This finding corroborates an earlier report by others on the possible recovery of the same species from the ‘Hoge Fronten’: remains of Maastricht’s 18th century ramparts.
