The Biesbosch, an nearly 11,000 acres freshwater tide area, is highlighted as the author’s favourite place to watch snails, slugs and mussels. A list of 107 mollusc species recovered from the Biesbosch is presented, including 18 species appearing in the Dutch Red list. Moreover, the Biesbosch has an important role in the occurrence of eleven mollusc species as compared to the rest of the Netherlands. In particular, the occurrence of the Swollen spire snail Mercuria confusa and the Wall snail Balea perversa (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Biesbosch are discussed.
