A bit more about the freshwater snails in the area of the inundation sluice belonging to the 'Defence Line of Amsterdam' in the Beemster

In the autumn of 2013 the wetlands belonging to the former inundation sluice near S.E.-Beemster in the province of Noord-Holland were surveyed for the presence of freshwater snails. Galba truncatula was found at the base of the interior of the sluice, two other species were found in a shallow drainage ditch. The latter two species were also found in the main basin (an artificial small lake), together with five additional species.
