Herstel van de populatie Purperslakken Nucella lapillus (Linnaeus, 1758) in de Westerscheldemonding

Although most populations of the dog whelk (Nucella lapillus) in The Netherlands recovered after the ban onTBT in anti-fouling paints, until now this was not observed in the mouth of the riverWesterschelde. In this area TBT was produced and there is heavy traffic of ocean-going vessels. This is the first record of a reproducing population near Vlissingen since the 1970s.
