The park belonging to the remains of the 16th century mansion of Heremastate in Joure, Friesland, the Netherlands, has been surveyed for the presence of land snails and slugs during three brief visits in 2013, 2014 and 2015. So far the presence of 29 species could be demonstrated. Noteworthy among them are the slugs Tandonia budapestensis, Tandonia sowerbyi, Lehmannia marginata, Lehmannia valentiana and Deroceras invadens. No trace could be found of the once introduced population of Helix pomatia of which two living specimens had been collected by Louis J.M. Butot on 20 October 1969.
