h-America, mainly on the coast of Chili. Among the samples two different phenotypes occur as described in Sepúlveda et al., 2012. One specimen differs from these two types by being pear-shaped with a flattened apex and a wide last whorl with a large mouth. It is suggested that this aberrant shell may be the result of parasitic castration.
