As of 2010 the author has regularly explored the Oeverbos in Vlaardingen, on the right bank of the Nieuwe Waterweg, province of Zuid-Holland,nthe Netherlands. The Oeverbos is a recreational area with a young, deciduous wood planted about 30 years ago on harbour sludge. The author has enjoyed following the pace and width of expansion of the mollusc fauna in this area. Remarkable molluscs therein include Sowerby’s keeled slug Tandonia sowerbyi, Budapest keeled slug Tandonia budapestensis, Common chrysalis snail Lauria cylindracea and the Maritime garden snail Cernuella cisalpina.
