Gyraulus chinensis (Dunker, 1848) is a small freshwater snail belonging to the family Planorbidae. It originates from South-East Asia (Meier-Brook, 1983); the species was described after it had been found in Hong Kong. It was encountered a few times in the Netherlands; here we focus on the record from 2012 in “the lake of Luna” in Heerhugowaard, province of North- Holland.
