Last april I visited with my children and grand children Mallorca. I had no intention to collect anything like shells. While visting the small beach of Caló de Ses Egües (25 m wide) we picked up some more common shells among which we found a Bivetiella cancellata and a second one which is most probably a Bivetiella similis. Both species are not so common and reported here for the first time from Mallorca! A few days later the same beach was covered with Velella velella so now I started searching for Janthina shells. Under the first Velella I found my first Janthina globosa. I must have turned another hundred Velella’s, but that one Janthina was also the last one that I found that day.
