On 3 June, 2016 the Small periwinkle Melarhaphe neritoides (Linnaeus, 1758) was re-encountered on one of the pillars of the Pier of Scheveningen, province of Zuid-Holland. Scheveningen had also been the place where the species had been found for the fi rst time in the Netherlands in 1916. Unfortunately, the pillars were recently painted and the Smalle periwinkle was lost. But a larger population was recovered from the northern jetty of Scheveningen harbour on July 7, 2016.
