Molluscs from fishing nets recovered by the “Duik de Noordzee schoon” expedition in September 2015
Spirula , Volume 409 p. 50- 55
Several times “Duik de Noordzee schoon” (‘Clean the North Sea through diving’) organised expeditions with divers to explore marine life in the North Sea and raise attention for the need to protect it. During the expeditions divers also remove fishing nets from shipwrecks as these nets are harmful for fishes and crabs if they get stuck in these. In September 2015 some of these removed nets were brought ashore and scrutinized by some members of the Nederlandse Malacologische Vereniging and anemoon Foundation for molluscs. Many small species were recovered, some of which rarely known from or new for the Doggersbank.
