For 2016 two new oyster species for the Netherlands are reported from beaches. The first was found by Toon Govaarts and Katarina Homan on April 30, on the Wadden isle of Schiermonnikoog (province of Groningen): Dendostrea frons (Linnaeus, 1758). The second species was found by Gijsbert Twigt on July 16 in Katwijk (province of Zuid-Holland): Isognomon bicolor (C. B. Adams, 1845). On the same day and at the same place Pinctada imbricata imbricata (Röding, 1798) was recorded. Neopycnodonte cochlear (Poli, 1795) was reported by Theo Kiewiet from Ameland (another Wadden isle, province of Friesland) on January 27.
