Collecting patellas and land snails on Madeira

In September 2016 the author and his partner enjoyed a one-week holiday on the beautiful island of Madeira. Shelling possibilities are limited on the ‘flower island’, but …‘lapas’ are the patella species that count. This story describes the shell hunts and trips on the island. Problems with respect to the identity of two Patella species and a Theba land snail are commented on.
