Vondst van Isognomon radiatus (Anton, 1838), vlak na de vondst van een familielid

On the top of a jerrycan found on the beach of Noordwijk on the 17th of July, 2016 the species Isognomon radiatus (Anton, 1838) and Isognomon bicolor (C.B. Adams, 1845) were discovered. It is remarkable that one day before the jerrycan stranded, so on the 16th of July, the species Isognomon bicolor (C.B. Adams, 1845) and Pinctada imbricata imbricata (Röding, 1798) were recovered from a piece of plastic washed ashore in Katwijk, just about ten kilometers south of Noordwijk. It is supposed that both pieces of plastic were transported by sea currents from the Caribbean region to the Dutch coast.
