A first report concerning the presence of freshwater molluscs and hygrophilous terrestrial gastropods in the wetland ‘Eerste Plak’ near Lies, Terschelling

Thus far only 12 different species of molluscs have been encountered in the wetland ‘Eerste Plak’ near Lies on the Wadden Sea island Terschelling, the Netherlands: nine freshwater molluscs and three hygrophilous terrestrial gastropods. Only Radix balthica and Planorbis planorbis were present each year. Anisus leucostoma and Pisidium obtusale are both also encountered on Terschelling in aquatic biotopes which are from time to time drying out.
