Traces on shells of Lutraria lutraria (Linnaeus, 1758)

Two shells of Lutraria lutraria (Linnaeus, 1758) collected on the North Sea beach at Wijk aan Zee, province of Noord-Holland, the Netherlands show small breaks and irregular growth lines due to burrowing and traces by trematode cysts. Also short, straight, sometimes parallel grooves are present. These grooves are still in need of an explanation.
