On 11 September 2016 one live specimen of Xerotricha conspurcata (Draparnaud, 1801) was found in Cadzand-Bad, province of Zeeland. In 2017, the existence of a small population at the site of the first find and a larger one nearby were confirmed. This event is interpreted as another example of the effect of climate change on the malacofauna of the Netherlands.
