Milk snail Otala lactea (Müller, 1774) encountered in Boskoop, the Netherlands

On 27 July 2018 a single live specimen of the mediterranean species Otala lactea (Müller, 1774) was found in Boskoop, province of Zuid-Holland, the Netherlands. It is unknown how this snail arrived at this location, nor whether it is part of a population. In the USA the introduction of this species has been considered a potential threat to agriculture.
