A malacological survey was carried out in the unique Elm-arboretum in Joure, province of Friesland, in the autumn of 2018. Only ten land snails were observed and among them not a single slug. On the other hand 21 aquatic species were collected from the ditches surrounding the arboretum. Among them was the Glutinose snail Myxas glutinosa, a critically endangered species not only in the Netherlands but also elsewhere in western Europe.
