Gyroscala lamellosa (Lamarck, 1822) found in 1983 on the beach of Katwijk, the Netherlands

In March 1983, the first author found a specimen of Gyroscala lamellosa (Lamarck, 1822) on the beach of Katwijk, the Netherlands. The snail, with operculum and meat scraps, was presumably transported to this location. Settling is not very likely, due to the lack of more recent finds along the Dutch coast.
