The Marker Wadden is a group of recently created islands in the Markermeer lake between Enkhuizen and Lelystad that should improve the nature quality of this area. The Haveneiland (Harbour island) emerged above water level in 2016 and is open to visitors since September, 2018. This article describes the start of the monitoring of the mollusk fauna of the Haveneiland in the southwestern part of the Marker Wadden as conducted on 13 September, 2018 and 14 June, 2019. Until now 25 species were found: 12 freshwater species, 2 brackish water species and 11 terrestrial species. Only one species was found alive: New Zealand mud snail Potamopyrgus antipodarum. Also several (sub)fossil species were found, belonging to the marine and brackish water fauna of the former Zuiderzee and to the marine Eemien fauna from deeper layers.
