Addervriendelijk bosbeheer

Het belang van adderhabitats in Nederlandse bossen is onderbelicht en het beheer hiervan verdient meer aandacht. Dit artikel gaat in op de verschillende factoren die boshabitats geschikt maken en geeft aanbevelingen om bij het beheer rekening te houden met de specifieke eisen voor deze soort, waarbij ook andere reptielen gebaat kunnen zijn. This literature survey ! supplemented with the author’s own observations in the field !describes the functions of various types and succession stages of open forest in relation to the adder’s life cycle. The author makes practical recommendations for a varied forest management that will benefit adders and other reptiles.
