First record of Corbicula fluminalis (O.F. Müller, 1774) from the Dutch province of Friesland

One live, adult specimen of Corbicula fluminalis (O.F. Müller, 1774) was found on the bank of a canal in Leeuwarden on January 5th, 2021 by Lisette Cuperus. The animal was attached to a pannier that was dredged from the canal, along with many specimens of the Quagga mussel Dreissena bugensis Andrusov, 1897. On June 8, 2021, another location for Corbicula fluminalis was discovered in the province of Friesland, near the town of Harlingen.
