This paper records the discovery of a single recent empty shell of Melanoides tuberculatus (O.F. Müller, 1774) in a collection of fossil shells from Langenboom-Mill collected by Jan Lippe in 2005. Populations of Melanoides tuberculatus are known in the Netherlands from two localities with cooling water discharge. In the west and the east of the Netherlands a small number of widespread incidental finds are known.
