Lathyrus platyphyllos (Retz.) W.D.J.Koch is a lookalike of L. sylvestris L. that has not been reported from the Netherlands until now. The first record of this species is the population of ‛L. sylvestrisʼ from the Jufferswaard near Renkum (Province of Gelderland), which has recently been identified as being a population of L. platyphyllos instead. Because of its close similarity with L. sylvestris, it is likelly that L. platyphyllos has been confused with that species in the past and is actually more common in the Netherlands.
