It is possible to make from every microscope a polarisation microscope, without high expense. Some supplies must be made, among which the attachment of polaroid. For this can be used polaroid HN 22 - 0.03511. All details of the rebuilding are given for the Japanese marks Polarex and Olympus (G.C. Model). With the latter type in its rebuilt condition it is possible to produce the most common optical-mineralogical properties (as: interference figures, extinction, elongation, refraction). The price can so been reduced ta nearly half the amount of a simple original polarisation microscope.
