The author describes the first surface occurrence in the Netherlands of Noricum sandstone developed in greensand facies. This find was made in Losser and contains the Ammonite Endemoceras amblygonium (Neumayr & Uhlig), the guidefossil for the Lower and Middle Hauterivian.
