The composition and the occurence of inclusions in amber are discussed and attention is p a id to the use of amber in medicine. Furthermore a review of findings of amber in the Netherlands is given. The number of findings and the mode of occurence jusitify the conclusion that during the Tertiary in the Netherlands amber has been formed.
