Over de geologie en geomorfologie van de stuwwal van Oldenzaal

After a short chronological reconstruction of the geogenesis of the ice-pushed ridge of Oldenzaal, some results of the survey are presented. On the basis of the outcrops of two formations of tertiary age, an attempt has been made to illustrate the imbricated structure of the ice-pushed ridge of Oldenzaal. The geology and geomorphology of the stream channels is given by means of an ideal cross section of an 'erosiedal '. The overthrusting of a younger formation by an older one is clearly visible in the 'Harbert'-quarry. Therefore serious consideration should be given to protect this quarry as an earthscientific valuable object, a so-called 'Gea-object '.
