Versteend leven doorgelicht

This paper presents several fossils occurring in the so-called Hunsrückschiefer, near Bundenbach, West Germany. In addition to the usual preparation and conservation techniques, X-ray examination has been applied to study the fossils in more detail. It appeared that, especially for the pyrite–bearing specimens, the X-ray photographs could show several features of the interior of the fossil (compare fig. 8 and fig. 9).
