The presumably first specimen of the spatangoid echinoid Micraster stolleyi Lambert in De Grossouvre, 1901 from the Upper Campanian (Gulpen Formation, Zeven Wegen Chalk) of the Liège-Limburg basin is portraited and described in this paper. The specimen originates from the upper five metres of the Zeven Wegen Chalk. This section is relatively poor in macrofossils (belemnite guards excepted) in the CPL-quarry at Haccourt, municipality of Oupeye, province of Liège, Belgium. In addition, some views on the taxonomy and phylogeny of this species as expressed in recent literature are discussed
