'T zit in 't zand en 't tikt

All natural materials are radioactive and radioactivity is a phenomenon as old as the earth. In this paper it is indicated how we think that radioactivity can be a tool to enhance our knowledge on topics like sand transport in coastal zones, provenance of sand, its age and the age of the sediment of which it is a part. This paper reviews the research by our group, carried out in collaboration with various research groups and agencies.
