The syntypes of “Naticina” fissurata Von Koenen, were investigated. The samples from two localities (Lattorf and Westeregeln) didn't reveal this species. Only the sample from Unseburg belongs to the species fissurata. One specimen from Unseburg was elected as lectotype. It could provisionally be decided that this species shows more affinity with Euspira than with Tectonatica. Euspira fissurata is known from lower and middle oligocene deposits in Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands. It seems to occur in fine sandy deposits only.
