At the temporary excavation for the E 3 Scheldttunnel at Antwerp, Belgium the Upper Rupelian “Septarienclay” was exposed. A fauna different from the fauna known from the permanent escavations at Boom and Niel, Belgium, was found. The differences between these two faunas was investigated by collecting at the two localities. The results are assumed in a list of species in this publication. The difference of the faunas of “De Vlijt” near Winterswijk and “de Kuiperberg” near Ootmarsum (both Netherlands) agree with the difference of the faunas of the two Belgian localities. At Boon and “de Kuiperberg” tha base of the formation was to be seen, but not in “De Vlijt” and the E 3 tunnel. The conclusion is that during the formation of the “septarienclay” the fauna has changed. Besides the geographical spreading of the species is important. In De Vlijt species are found that are also found in Germany. Three new species for the “septarienclay” of Belgium were observed. Two at the E 3 tunnel: Ancistrocyrinx perspirata (Koenen) and Thyasira obtusa (Beyrich) and one at Boom: Calyptraea striatella Nyst
