A section with a length of about 9 km reveals details on the stratigraphy of Tertiary (mainly Oligocene) and Quaternary deposits north of Tongeren (Belgium). The thickness of the Neerrepen Sands decreases to the north, that of the Henis Clay decreases somewhat in a southern direction. The boundary between these deposits is straight; strike and fall of their contact level could be calculated. The thickness of the Berg Sands is determined by two erosive stages. The greater part of the Quaternary sediments will have been reworked. In the Molenbeek valley not reworked löss-deposits may still be present.
