The authors describe briefly the fossil baculum of a Walrus, Odobenus rosmarus, found on the bottom of the North Sea, southwest of the Brown Ridge in February 1993. As introduction some notes on bacula in general and bacula of pinnipeds in particular are given. The mentioned baculum has a length of 602 mm and a weight of 1030 grammes. Its colour is very dark brown. In view of its colour one could say that it is late Pleistocene of age. But in view of other finds of Walrus bones from the same area which are light coloured and the much younger remains of Walruses found off the coast of Denmark, the authors refrain from dating the baculum. They await a C-14 dating of the Walrus remains from the Brown Ridge area.
