The morphology of a skull is a reflection of antemortem factors like: age and sexual dimorphism, but also other factors can have a role like: pathology, trauma and cultural deformation. If one likes to say something about the evolutionary position of a fossil, like the Mojokerto skull, one cannot ignore the other factors. Although the difficulties with interpreting the morphology of the Mojokerto skull are obvious, because of postmortem damage and the skull belongs to a young individual, it is argued that Mojokerto represents a juvenile Homo erectus skull. At this moment it is not possible to determine if it is an early ( Homo erectus erectus) or a late (Homo erectus soloensis) Javanese form.
