Exactly thus runs the title of a booklet in which the French palaeontologist Odile Boeuf gives a description of the site Chilhac (Early Pleistocene; Dept. Haute Loire, Massif Central, France). The fossils of Early Pleistocene mammals that were discovered between 1960 and 1990 under guidance of Christian Guth are stored and exhibited in the local natural history museum of Chilhac. What makes these fossils so special, is that mammal fossils of this age are only rarily found in such a good condition. In addition, the composition of this fauna shows a large similarity with the Early Pleistocene fauna that is dredged from the Oosterschelde river (the Netherlands).
