For almost ten years now, the authors of this article are searching for fossils at a sandpit in the neighbourhood of Borculo. We were sometimes more successful than other times; The sandpit is not very rich in fossils. Still we have found a number of remarkable finds, which are worth mentioning. Examples are a part of a European pond tortoise (Emys orbicularis), a coprolite of an ice age spotted hyena ( Crocuta spelaea) and a convex scraper made by Neanderthal Man ( Homo neanderthalensis). There is a possibility that one or more finds date from a warmer period of the Pleistocene, namely the Eemian.
