A preliminary overview of an inventory of material of small mammals from beach sand is given. All material is from sand dredged from the North Sea. Minimally twenty five small mammal species are recognised, from faunas of different ages, varying from Holocene/Late Pleistocene to Early Pleistocene/Late Pliocene. The majority of the faunal remains consists of teeth from voles, but other rodents and insectivores have also been found.
