The hybrid of Carex lasiocarpa L. and C. riparia L. O (C. x evoluta Hartm.), in the Netherlands till now only found near Wychen (prov. Gelderland) in 1955, has also been found in 1961 near Maartensdijk (prov. Utrecht). Data are given concerning the ecology of the hybrid and the plant communities in which it occurs.
