In contradistinction to the prevailing opinion that Gagea lutea (L.) Ker-Gawl. and G. spathacea (Hayne) Salisb. as found in several old countryseats (“stinsen”) and similar localities in the NE. part of the Netherlands are relics of former cultivation, the author arrives at the conclusion that both species are really native there.
